My favorite place to shoot weddings is in Park City, Utah. Park City is a home to the Sundance Film Festival and known for having the greatest snow on earth. Located 33 miles from the capitol of Utah and the hub for the Salt Lake International Airport.
Know the Season
If you are getting married outdoors, keep the seasons in mind. Utah has 4 seasons and because of the altitude, Park City usually experiences the seasons first. When deciding the time of year you are wanting to get married, make sure to consider the weather. If you wanting to get married from October to March (sometimes even sooner or later), the weather could be wet and maybe even cold. This can make for some gorgeous weddings and elopements!
Location
There are so many locations to choose from. Make sure the location you choose algins with what you and your partner want. If you are wanting to book in a venue, make sure to reach out shortly after your engagement to book. If you are local to Utah or can fly in, schedule tours at your favorite locations.
I have spent year’s location scouting the mountain ranges near Park City and know all the best spots. Hiring photo/video vendors who are very familiar with the area will become your secret weapon for knowing the most gorgeous mountain locations.
Communicate with Guests in Advance
This can be a huge mistake! I you are planning to have you wedding outdoors, make sure the direction to the location is clear. Send instructions with the wedding invitations in advance. Consider even sending an email with the instructions before the wedding. You do NOT want your guests blowing up your phone on you wedding day. Communication is key!
